About

About us
We are Tanja Luchsinger and Martina Haufgartner, two Tango enthusiasts from Zürich, Switzerland. On our Tango journey, we realized that there were no workshops available in Zürich on many of the Tango topics that interested us. Therefore, in 2024, we started Tango Fluido as a non-profit Tango Project. We decided to invite international Tango teachers to teach workshops in different locations in Zürich and share their vision of Tango. We wanted to offer workshops that would broaden our Tango horizons and those of our community.
Our vision
Just as everything else changes over time, we believe Tango does too. We are interested in exploring the dynamic nature of Tango and especially its fluidity. How can we blur the boundaries between leading and following? How can we switch the roles during the dance or inhabit them in a fluid way? How can we find more playfulness, musicality, connection and dialogue in our dance?
Thereby, we know, of course, that playing with the structures of Tango requires knowing them well and acquiring a skill before deconstructing it. Therefore, we also offer workshops that refine the basics of following, leading, musicality, movement and connection.
For us, Tango is more than a dance. It's a way of life, a philosophy. Therefore, we encourage our guest teachers to share their vision of Tango.
In our workshops, we aim to create a safe space in which everyone is welcome and treated with respect. We are here to connect, embrace and learn together. Therefore, we ask you to leave all kinds of prejudice at the door and approach your fellow workshop participants with an open mind and heart.
We are a non-profit project. A small part of the workshop fees is used to cover our expenses (room rent, snacks for the workshops, flyers, etc). The rest goes directly to the teachers we invite. As organizers, we don't earn anything from Tango Fluido. Rather, we aim to support the teachers we invite and their art as much as possible.
